WET International started out as a small chemical manufacturer in 2000 and have managed to stay in business, grow sales, and develop several lines of chemical preparations to service various industries. In the beginning, we did not manufacture all our products; In fact, we still do not do it all today. Even though our manufacturing facilities are much larger than before, we will continue to rely on the support of our suppliers to service our customers.
We would like to share our experience in starting a small business without access to a lot of capital.
Based on our experience with home business start-ups, the most important factor is not capital; It is time.
In pursuing low cost, environmental responsibility and some times fun, several formulas have appeared in the internet and magazines teaching how to make your own laundry detergent formulas. Many of these formulas list Borax, Bicarbonate (baking soda), Soda Ash (sodium carbonate) and bar soap shavings.
Foam was associated with the concentration and cleaning capacity of the detergent products at the time when soaps and anionic detergents dominated the industry. This was due to the fact that foam is associated with a decrease in the Surface Tension of the solution. But a low Surface Tension is not always associated with detergency (ability to clean). It is the similar and often confused term of Interfacial Tension which is responsible for the detergency of a surfactant. New non-ionic low foam surfactants have been developed which produce a great decrease in the Interfacial Tension of the system.
